How skin tightening works: Heat, placed under
the surface.

Skin firms up when the layer under the surface is warmed enough to tighten and build new collagen (what keeps skin firm). Both treatments use radiofrequency (RF), a gentle heat energy, to do that. The difference is the path the heat takes. Morpheus8 sends it down through fine needles from the top. Quantum sends it up from underneath through a thin tube (a cannula), so the surface is never needled.

Tiny needles go through the surface. Heat comes out of their tips.

Morpheus8: Deep enough to
firm the skin.

Fine needles carry RF heat deeper than microneedling alone can reach. Because the needles pass through the surface, Morpheus8 also works on texture, lines and scars while it firms.

Its maker describes Morpheus8 as an FDA-cleared radiofrequency device for soft tissue contraction, meaning it tightens the tissue under the skin.

Quantum: Tightening
from underneath.

Quantum is made by InMode (its full name is QuantumRF). It works from under the skin through a thin tube, so the surface is never needled. It is the choice when you want firmer skin and the surface is already fine.

What its maker says it is for

  • Tightening the tissue under skin that has lost firmness
  • The face and neck, using the smaller handpiece
  • Larger body areas, using the larger handpiece
  • Loose skin after weight change

Morpheus8 or Quantum?: Which one
fits you.

If the surface also needs work, such as acne scars, lines or crepey skin, Morpheus8 treats the surface and firmness together. If the surface is fine and loose skin is the only problem, Quantum works underneath it. Your provider confirms which one fits you, or whether neither does, at your consultation.

Who it’s for

Skin that has lost firmness: a softening jawline, a neck that has started to sag, loose skin on the arms, stomach or thighs, and the change that comes after weight loss or age. Neither treatment is a facelift. Expect an improvement, not a full reset.

Before treatment

Some skin types, health histories and goals rule a treatment out. Your provider goes over the risks, and whether it is right for you at all, before treatment.

Your skin tightening appointment: What to expect.

  1. Consult

Your provider looks at your skin, how loose it is, and what you want to change, before treatment.

  2. Treat

The area is cleaned and prepped. With Morpheus8, the handpiece moves over the skin in sections. With Quantum, the thin tube goes under the skin through a small entry point. Your provider explains first how you will be kept comfortable.

  3. Recover

Most people are back to normal a day or two after Morpheus8. Quantum recovery is covered at your consultation. Either way, results show up slowly as new collagen builds.

Skin tightening questions

Does skin tightening hurt?
It depends on the person and the area. Before treatment, your provider explains what each one feels like and how you will be kept comfortable.
How much downtime is there?
For Morpheus8, a day or two. Most people are back to normal by then, with maybe some redness or mild swelling. For Quantum, the maker describes it as minimally invasive with shorter downtime. Your provider tells you what to expect for your area at the consult.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number. Morpheus8 is done as a series of sessions, not one visit. Quantum has no set number either. Your provider sets your plan after looking at your skin.
When will I see results?
Slowly. Results build as your skin makes new collagen. With Morpheus8, improvement keeps developing over weeks to months, so the skin you see at your follow-up is not yet the final result.
Can it tighten loose skin on my body, not just my face?
Yes. Morpheus8 is booked for the face, neck, chest and body. Quantum has a larger handpiece made for areas like the stomach and thighs. Which areas fit you is confirmed in person.
How much does skin tightening cost in OKC?
Morpheus8 is $800 for the face, $1,000 for face and neck, and $1,200 for face, neck and décolletage (upper chest). Quantum is priced by area and confirmed at the consult. Wheeler members take 10% to 15% off, and a series can go on a payment plan.
